Gene K. Pith

Hi, I'm Gene K. Pith. I'm a cartoonist, illustrator, and graphic novelist interested in the strange corners of the human experience.
My work explores memory, identity, dreams, loneliness, absurdity, and the quiet moments that often tell us the most about ourselves. I love stories that blur the line between reality and imagination—stories that trust readers to find their own meaning.
If I could spend an evening anywhere, it would probably be wandering the halls of the Hotel Chelsea sometime in the early 1970s, quietly hoping Patti Smith might wander past while Robert was taking Polaroids down the hall. That spirit has always appealed to me—the belief that art should be fearless, deeply personal, and never afraid to ask difficult questions.
I believe creative expression belongs to everyone. I believe kindness is stronger than cruelty, curiosity is stronger than fear, and standing up for people who are being pushed aside is one of the quiet responsibilities of being an artist.
I don't make comics... I chase relief. My stories haunt me. They refuse to leave me alone until I let them out.
If something I create makes you laugh, wonder, feel a little less alone, or see the world from a different angle, then I consider that energy well spent.
